ScienceDaily (2010-07-13) -- A new study demonstrates neural basis for observation that practicing several skills in single session works better than narrow drills on one skill. Study also helps define time window for brain's learning of new skills. ... http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/07/100712141855.htm
This is one reason why we don't "give you the answer" in Feldenkrais. The other reason, is there is usually a different answer for every nano second of life and how would we know an answer that you could use effectively. Mixing it up. Playing around works.
I think this is in line with the findings from the barefoot running studies. When given options, humans will spontaneously choose, through trial and error the best option for the action and the environmental conditions (I am speaking of self use here because we appear to have a different program running when it comes to our impact on the world). Those that are able to run barefoot, do so successfully because their foot is free to guide them to the ground by landing in different ways. Shoes prevent the large range of spontaneous choice.
